About Author

Charles M. Clodfelter

Charles M. Clodfelter was born in 1940 and has served as a minister for more than sixty years. A father of three, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he has spent much of his life thinking about faith, character, family, responsibility, and the values passed from one generation to another.

What began as a small booklet eventually grew into American Code of Ethics: Rules to Live By, an expanded collection of principles shaped by his ministry, experiences, and years of reflection.

For Charles, ethics should not remain merely something people discuss. They should be visible in how a person actually lives.

About Book

Rules Worth Carrying Through Life

American Code of Ethics: Rules to Live By is about something simple to understand but much harder to practice: living by principles that mean something.

Across twenty-one thought-provoking chapters, Charles M. Clodfelter explores faith, respect, family, honesty, loyalty, financial responsibility, citizenship, self-discipline, traditions, memories, and the way we treat other people.

Rather than keeping ethics in the world of abstract ideas, the book brings them into ordinary life. How do we speak when we are angry? Do we keep our promises? Can we admit when we are wrong? What do we do with our money, our time, and our freedom?

These are everyday questions, but the answers can shape an entire life.

A moment of patience when anger would be simpler.

Character is rarely built in one dramatic moment.

The rules are simple. Living them is the real challenge.
